Master of laws (LL.M) Programme started in 2009 upon the approval by council for Higher Education of Uganda. The program provides the students with a broader understanding of comparative and international legal issues.

The main objective of the program is to provide a solid foundation in the basics of a legal education as well as the opportunity to explore the broadest possible range of theories and prospective in order to prepare for leadership and success in the legal profession.

The LL.M Program offers a series of specialized and non specialized degrees in comparative and international law. Special attention is paid to areas in which there is a growing demand for lawyers: business and financial law, international and comparative law, constitutional and public law, and natural resource law.


The specialized LL.M degrees being offered are:

1.                                          LL.M in Criminal Law and Criminology

2.                                           LL.M in Public international Law

3.                                           LL.M in International Economics and Trade

4.                                          LL.M in Commercial Law

5.                                         LL.M in Banking and Financial services

6.                                         LL.M in Intellectual Property Law

7.                                       LL.M in Natural Resource Law

     The most part of LL.M courses are taught using a hybrid of instructional methodologies ranging      from; case studies, to interactive seminars, presentations and moots.

     The entry requirements to all the above courses are:

1.                  At least 2nd (lower division) or its equivalent

2.                 These courses are designed for all graduates from any degree.
